Romania Day 5

I joined Merri and Kerri on their morning walks the rest of the trip.
In the past a huge group would go, but this year it was just us 3.

I really like getting out in the morning. If you don't, you feel like you are cooped up in the clinic all day. Being from Texas, it was a nice change in weather. At night and in the mornings...it is in the 60s! Amazing!
It is also a great way to get out and see the city of Braila.

Most of the days in the clinic (Monday-Thursday...we are on Tuesday now) are the same with little differences.
Don't get me wrong...it is a lot of work...but a lot of fun.
On this day, Oana came and visited.
Me, Oana, and baby Ioana

Oana was Dr. Tom's assistant for a couple of years when he visited here in Braila.
Oana has finished Dental School in Romania, gotten married, and had her first child. She has done this over my last 3 trips. I got to meet her sweet daughter last year when she was 6 months old and got to see her again this year.

Balloons can do wonders when trying to entertain children.

After a another hard day's work we loaded up the vans and went to dinner.

Tonight's delight: Antic
It had been 2 years since I last ate here and could not remember the food. We ate outside this time and it was a nice change of scenery.
I got the chicken schnitzel. It is one of my favorites to get in Romania. It tastes like chicken fried chicken. I love me some southern comfort foods!
I skipped out on dessert this evening. I was way too full from the amazing dinner.

Dr. Tom walked over to the waiter at one point and tried to tell him in Romanian that we really enjoyed the food. Apparently he didn't pronounce things the right way and the waiter's facial expression changed sour really quick. We didn't have a translator with us at dinner so we had to call Dora. Dora spoke to the man over the phone and cleared things up and the waiter smiled again. It was just one of those moments I will remember that livened up the night. I still have no idea what he said to the waiter...and I probably never will.

We all walked back to the clinic and called it a night.
I'll leave you will one of my favorite views from the clinic
