Houston Trip #1 of Break

Last Thursday, my Mom and I got pedicures. I couldn't tell you the last time I got one. Stupid me forgot to paint my toenails before I left Durham and I've built up some nasty calluses on my feet. They needed some TLC.
We tried a new place that was recommended by my hairdresser.
I liked it quite a bit. It was a little pricey...which I guess is for the ambiance.

We got some froyo and had lunch at Rockfish. I spent an hour lying around by and in the pool with my Dad. Then it was time to get ready to head to Houston.
I ran into a little rain once I hit Huntsville and once again in Houston. The traffic slowed and there was even a bus fire.
I made it to Lance's apartment about 30 minutes after he got home from his last class of the week.
He took me to a bar that has TURTLE RACES. He has talked about it before and I couldn't wait to experience it. We didn't bet on a turtle, but I had a lot of fun watching the things run around.

After that we headed over to the piano bar and we enjoyed the company of one of Lance's classmates.

Friday we swam in the pool for a couple of hours and relaxed.

Lance figured out that the cooler's lid floated in the pool.

he was very excited

okay okay, I was too

That night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and played poker and Golden Tee.

Saturday we went to Saint Arnold's Brewery. You pay $7 and get a glass and 4 coins. Each coin gets you a refill.

We were newbies and actually missed the tour...imagine that.

We still enjoyed the beer.

By Sunday it was time to get down to business. Lance had some studying to do. He took me to a local coffee shop and he got some coffee while I went for the chai tea latte. I ordered a panini and he warned me they take a long time. After 20 minutes I was worried. At 30 minutes he went and asked them about it. They had completely forgotten about the order. We did get another free coffee out of the deal.
Lance decided to go ahead and start reading there at the coffee shop.

Once I ate my panini, he gave me a tour of his law school.

I brought along the book "Pushed" that I am required to read for Maternity this semester. It is very informative, but a very slow read. I only made it to page 30 in a little over an hour =(

Last night Lance and I watched part of The Meaning of Life. I found part 1 to tell what I have gathered from the first bits of my reading....in a funny manner of course.

We spent almost 2 hours at the library before he called it quits.

At some point this weekend, I helped Lance hang some photos he framed last week.

more studying

We enjoyed dinner and some wine while watching Big Brother.

It was a nice, relaxing, evening.

This morning I awoke and drove back up here to Arlington.

This was the first time I was able to say "See you in 3 days"....in person. Believe it or not, we get to see each other 3 weeks in a row.

I enjoyed the day back home with my parents. We went out to dinner and watched some TV to relax.

Goodnight.
