Weddings and Water Walls

Other than the puppy and the NCLEX, there has been other stuff going on.
Not super important, but I feel like I need to catch you guys up!

Lance and I don't go out very much, so when we do, I think it's a big deal.

This outing wasn't even for "us", but I got to join in later in the evening.
Lance went with one of his law school buddies to a get together with Houston lawyers to network a bit.
I met up with them after the get together was over and one other guy joined us. His wife just happens to be a CRNA and I plan on asking her some questions when I get the chance.

Okay, so I said "other than the puppy", but these pics are just too cute to not post.

Last Friday night (June 8th), was one of Lance's good friend's wedding.
Actually, two of his good friends.
Bill and Niki (both), were Lance's roommates before he moved in to our now apartment. Bill goes to law school with Lance.
It was great to see them because I had not since early February.

We barely made it to the wedding (traffic was nuts, but hey...it's Houston).
We had quite a drive from Houston to League City.
It was our first time leaving Scout all alone in the house and on top of that...for over 5 hours =(
PS: she didn't make a mess in her crate...I'm so proud

Ehm, so the wedding.
It was beautiful. She was a gorgeous bride and the ceremony was lovely.

We made it home before midnight and I opened up a special package from my parents.
They were my congratulatory flowers for passing the NCLEX.

I have been wanting to visit the "famous" water wall ever since I had heard of it a couple of weeks ago.
Yesterday, we made it happen.
We snagged up Scout, put her in the car, and headed towards the park. It is only 2.5 miles away from our apartment.

We practiced letting her run with us without us holding on to her leash. She follows us like it's no one's business.
She also met a pug, a baby, and several friendly people.

water!

We are both getting used to caring for a puppy.
Him more than me ;)

Getting up multiple times in the nights and attending to someone else's needs other than our own, is sometimes hard to do.
We've been keeping a log of her feeding, peeing, and pooping times.
We went from 5 accidents the first day, to 3 a day for a while, and then down to one. We managed to go a full 24 hours without an accident 2 days ago and then she peed a little after a nap (my fault).
She hasn't had an accident today.
We are learning just as much as she is when it comes to her needs.
She was trying to jump in the shower with me yesterday.
So what did I do?
I swooped her up and brought her in the shower with me and cleaned her off.
Her first bath at her new home.
I read that the "fear" stage is coming up and we have been trying to help her through that. We drop a book or make a loud noise every now and then and she hasn't flinched yet. We are trying to get her used to loud noises and different things and people.

Time for me to get going.

  1. Rachel, your dog is precious! I'm not going to lie...when I read that post title, I thought you were talking about Lance popping the question :)

So proud of all your hard work!
