Bodies

Here is the yummy candy my Mom sent with me back to Houston! There is a pic further down of all the food I brought back!

I hadn't loaded this pic before I wrote last time of Scout right when we picked her up from the vet. You would have never known she had surgery.

Here are her stitches on Day 3

I was impressed with their shave job.

We had to keep Penny and Scout separated because of the surgery. That was the hardest thing about it. Poor Penny got locked in the den when Scout wasn't in her kennel.

She wasn't supposed to jump around, but we couldn't keep her off of the couches.

Oh, here is the yummy food!

Wednesday night I went with Angela and Chelsie out to eat at Olive Garden. We had one of the worst waitresses I have ever had. 30 minutes after we ordered she came back to the table and told Angela that they were out of the ravioli. That's weird...you JUST now figured that out 30 minutes after you SHOULD have put in the order?  hmf

I was up early Thursday morning to be at the hospital for my second interview at 7 am. I'm really glad I decided to go.
Why?
Because I have done a 180 with my thoughts about this place. I talked to 2 of the nurses who started out a year ago and they were my kind of people. I also talked to the nurse manager. I was conflicted. How can I keep my life here in Houston and work in Fort Worth?
I think I can do it.
This is the complete opposite of what I was thinking the last time I wrote.
Buy hey, they told us to be flexible in nursing school...and that is what I'm doing.

I spent my last night in Arlington relaxing in the hottub and playing a new outside game my dad bought.

You try to get the balls to land on the piping and you get more points for certain ones.

I left around 11 pm on Friday towards Houston.

Scout had a hard time getting comfortable. She is getting too big to sleep in the front seat.

I received an email to schedule a phone screening interview with Baylor in Dallas on the ride to Houston. I ended up having it yesterday at 2 pm. It consisted of basic questions and then she asked me a few more incase I applied to the internship program that just opened up its application online. She called be back this morning and asked me to come in for an interview tomorrow. I told her I could not until next week and she said she would see if they could reschedule. I haven't heard back and don't expect much. It was a Monday-Friday job in a clinic...not my top choice.

I am supposed to hear back from the ED in Fort Worth by the end of this week. Crossing my fingers.

When Scout and I arrived back in Houston, she gave Lance a big hug!

Lance and I slept in on Saturday, I unpacked, and we watched the Lorax on Blu-Ray.
We decided to move the bookcase and chairs out of the bedroom and put the extra couch in their place. It had been in Lance's office. I like it in the bedroom because Scout has somewhere to lay and look out the window when we are all in there.

We have been talking about seeing the Bodies exhibit and it was only showing in Galveston until the 9th (it had been there since Feb). We drove down to Galveston on Sunday and had lunch on the water.

We had our own private TV.

After lunch, we drove over to Moody Gardens and saw the exhibit. I thought it was very interesting and I realized how much stuff I have already forgotten from anatomy.

Not much else is going on.
I just watched the miniseries Coma on A&E. I loved it!

Scout is now 19 weeks old and weighs 43.5 lbs!
