The night after I arrived back in Houston, Lance and I celebrated me getting a job.
He brought me home flowers, champagne, and a card.
The card was sweet and made me cry. I cannot wait for this boy to graduate so we can be permanently together again.
I started getting sick right after I got back to Houston. I think it was all the stress, ups and downs, securing a job, and knowing I'd be away from Lance the majority of my time.
I spent a lot of time in bed.
Scout has a routine of licking Lance's feet until she falls asleep every night.
It's rather cute.
Sam Houston State played Baylor this past Saturday. We didn't have the channel that it aired on, so we went up to Buffalo Wild Wings.
He watched and I played trivia while enjoying a Bloody Mary. I asked for spicy and it about killed me.
Getting closer to finishing here.
My Basic Life Support certification was almost expired and needed to be renewed. I looked up local class times and decided Tuesday would be the day.
It was nice to be back in a classroom setting and learning. I feel most at home in a classroom.
3 hours later I was done. One of the girls in my class got a call from her kids daycare. Her child of 7 months stopped breathing and they had called 911. I felt so bad. She ran out of there to go to the hospital.
That night, the puzzle got finished!
We caught Scout with a piece in her mouth several days ago and saved it. We thought she had ate a couple of pieces before we caught her. There was one piece missing when we were finished. I was about to blame Scout, but then I looked under one of the chairs and found it!
Sticking her tongue out.
This past weekend, I noticed a lot of blood on the side of Scout's mouth. I cleaned her off with a wet towel to get all the blood off. I was about to use some peroxide on it because I thought she had hurt herself. She opened her mouth and I saw that blood was coming out of a hole in her gums. SHE WAS LOSING HER MOLARS!
Yesterday, I finally found one.
It was on the ground next to her while she was napping. This is the first one she hasn't swallowed. There are several teeth missing in her mouth now and dried blood on all of her toys.
Her breath is driving me nuts because it smells like foul blood.
I got an email for a phone screen for the NICU residency position at Baylor. What are the odds. The same system I just accepted a position from. Geeze. My dream job too. Some day I will reapply for the residency. In a year or 2. I need to stick with my commitment at the time.
I guess I should tell y'all when the job starts.
As of now, October 1st!
I had my drug test last Thursday and began the background check.
I had no idea what the drug test was like. I thought they were going to draw a lot of blood. It was a simple pee in the cup kind of thing. I had 3 days from the time I got the email to get it done. I found a Quest diagnostics here in Houston to get it done. I saved a trip back to DFW.
I do have a health screen that needs to be done and I scheduled that for next Monday. So I am going to drive to Arlington really early on Monday morning. My appointment is at 2.
That is about it for now!
