400 Days Until Graduation

Last Wednesday, we had a guest lecturer on wound care. The day was spent looking at horrible pictures of different stages of wounds. When lunch time came at 11:30, I didn't hesitate to chomp into my sandwich. My professor came up to me and said "You can tell a true nurse by the fact you can eat after looking at things like that" (There was still a nasty pic up in the classroom while I was eating). It made me laugh and I kept eating.

I kept up my routine of taking cough medicine and sucking on cough drops during class.
They even had little sayings on them:

The second part of the day's lecture was on diagnostic tests. I was bored out of my mind, but I made it through.
I came home and finished up my Plan of Care assignment that I have been working on for 2 weeks.

I was so glad to have that thing over and done with.
Throughout the day I had been crying and getting upset over the DUMBEST things. It was really unlike me and I just had an overall feeling of sadness. I called my Mom and she mentioned to me that the cough medicine I have been taking consistently is a depressant. Sure enough I checked the label and it is pretty scary what that stuff can do to you. I stopped taking the stuff and have felt better since.

That evening, since I was feeling all weird, Stesha made me dinner.
OMG, it was soooo goooood!

Thursday's lab time was taken up by our Medical Calculation Exam. There was a written portion of about 30 questions..I think...and a practical portion where we had to draw up meds and a couple of other things. I felt I did just fine and I now know that I scored a 96.3% on it. =)
The last part of lab we got to practice giving injections. Not on each other, but on the dummies. I found it fun "darting" a syringe into Mr. Sim.

After the exam, Stesha and I took a walk in the Duke Gardens. I have been meaning to get out and do this now that Spring has arrived. The cherry blossoms have sadly already shed their pretty petals, but it was still a delight.

I went to the gas station to do my monthly filler upper and was shocked at the price!
Yikes!

Thursday night was spent watching TV with Stesha (she made me dinner again).
This night's delight was turkey dogs and sweat potato fries.

The flowers are opening up SO much!
Friday afternoon I relaxed and went for my first run post sickness. I ran 3 miles and had no cough attacks =)

I woke up this afternoon at 2 (I was tired, ok?). I finished up my Patho reading and went on another 3 mile run. This time I got caught in the rain. It sprinkled on me the second half of my run and began to POUR down on me on my post walk. It actually felt nice, but I don't think it was the best thing for me just getting over a cold.

Lance just posted some new photos from the wedding back in February.
I thought I would share:
