Once again, I've neglected on my updating. After my second interview with MD Anderson, Lance was finally done with his summer class. I had several days to enjoy his company and then we headed back to our hometown of Arlington. We were gone from the 20th until the 31st, so I'm just now getting around to an update.
July 16th
My second interview at MD Anderson was a new experience. It was in a different building than the first. I arrived 30 minutes early, checked in, and got a name badge. Another person waiting struck up a conversation with me about the hospital. He had his clinical there while in school and he really enjoyed it. He worked on the stem cell transplant floor.
A man with a bow tie came down the escalator and walked me to the room I would have my panel interview in. He told me about some of the research he had done at the other blue school (UNC) last summer. I walked into the room, introduced myself, and sat down.
There were 4 total with 3 other women other than the gentleman who walked me in. They went around each asking me a question until they were done. There were about 12 questions.
The questions were not the same, but very similar to the last interview with HR. The only question that threw me off was "What are your top customer service skills"? It took me a minute to process the question and answer it. That was the only one that stumped me and threw me a little off track. I smiled the whole time and ended the interview asking them each their favorite part of working at MD Anderson.

They told me it could be up to 6 weeks before I hear anything. I really hope I snag this job.
July 19th
The nights are filled with watching Big Brother. Lance loves this show and he got me hooked last summer. I think I have become obsessed and like it more than him now.
We decided to get out and explore some of Houston.
The Holocaust Museum is less than 10 minutes away from us and it is free.
We spent an afternoon there and then had dinner at Jason's Deli.

I mentioned the plants we bough last month, but I added some lights to the porch.

July 20th
We loaded up and headed to Arlington. Scout is too big for her little crate, so she rode on my lap most of the way. I did let her sleep in the floorboard at one point. She behaved wonderfully.
When we left Houston, she was around 22 pounds.
We ran into a lot of traffic. 5 hours later, we arrived in Arlington.
My parents got me some beautiful roses.
I went swimming with my Mom under the moon and stars for about an hour.
Lance hung out with Brian and I joined them a little later at a local patio bar. Brian was tired shortly after, so I drove Lance and I home.
July 21st
We planned on taking Scout for a walk to the lake, but it was too hot. We drove up to the dock instead. She watched Lance feed the ducks and enjoyed herself.
We had lunch and Lance enjoyed his traditional dessert.
We drove Scout over to Lance's parent's house so she could meet them for the first time. After we bragged about how she is potty trained, she took a big dump on their dining room floor. How embarrassing.
July 22nd
Sunday was Lance's Nanny's birthday. His family had a party for her over at his parent's house. We spent all day in the pool.
...and I drank a little too many glasses of wine!
I wasn't feeling too hot, so Lance drove me home where we all sat outside on the patio staring at the stars.
July 23rd
Scout had her first big girl swim in our big pool. She took it like a champ. She fetched her ball right out of the pool. Now we can't keep her out of it!
We took a break from swimming and came inside. When we went back outside to hangout on the patio, I noticed the end of Scout's nose looked a little funky. I didn't think much of it until we came inside and I noticed it was even bigger and her eyes were almost swollen shut.
I was worried, but this has happened to Ebony before so I didn't go into full panic mode.
We called the Vet to see if we should bring her in. They told us the right mg of benadryl to give her and to bring her in if that didn't fix it.
I had plans to go to dinner with Katie, so I dropped Lance off at his parent's house. By the time I came back (20 min later), Scout's face looked better and she was passed out.
I had dinner with Katie at Olive Garden over by her place in Fort Worth. We got to catch up. She was lucky enough to get to go to Mexico for a friend's wedding that week and she was going to Chicago 2 weeks after that. I told her all the things I recommended for her to do while she is there.
When I returned home, Scout was running around as if nothing had happened.

July 24th
At this point, Lance had not met my mother's mother, Ruth. She is my Grammie and the only remaining grandparent that I have. I met Lance's Grandmother Mitchell and now it was his turn to meet my Grandmother Mitchell (my mother's maiden name is the same as his last name...and no, we aren't related...we checked...hah!).
We all ate burgers. The dogs took naps in the kitchen while we all chatted.
Later in the day, we took Scout and Penny for a little jog/walk. We went a mile and half.
They were worn out!
July 25th
My parents got more babysitting/swimming time with Scout while Lance and I took a mini road trip to his Nanny's house and land out around Boyd, TX. It was a little over an hour to get there.

We arrived at his Nanny's and I got the full tour of the inside of her house. There were so many photos and trinkets that my mind was overwhelmed, but I loved it. It reminded me a lot of my dad's parent's house. After we spent some time inside, we adventured outside.

We got on his Nanny's 3-wheeler and explored the land. I cannot remember how many acres she has, but the land is on the Trinity River.
The neighbors have a lot of cattle that were hanging out in the river. We scared them off real quick.
We shot 3 different types of guns. She has had a gar problem recently, but we didn't see any.

We had a great day out there and stopped at a local burger place on our way back to Arlington.
July 26th
Lance and I went to lunch with his mother at Rockfish. She was sweet enough to bring me a gift for graduation.
After lunch, we went thrift shopping where I snagged some wall decor for next to nothing!
He bought some school supplies. He was a little hesitant to go in a thrift store...but this wasn't any thrift store, this was Thrift Town. Voted the best the past 5 years...haha! He bought more than I did, so I think he liked it.
We spent the evening at his parent's house swimming with Scout.
July 27th
We had plans to meet up with Brian and his new lady, Amber around Allen.
We met Brian at his work and then the three of us went to Twisted Root Burger to have some drinks and wait for Amber.
The opening ceremony for the Olympics was on, so I was glued to the TV.
Once Amber arrived, we rode to Top Golf.
It's a pretty new thing, but I LOVED it!
It's like a driving range, but you get points for hitting the ball in certain targets.
This was the first time I had seen Lance swing and I was impressed.
I on the other hand, had never hit a golfball other than at putt putt.
He taught me how, but of course I struggled.
I did hit my first swing!
Once I loosened up, I got better and better...but that was after I got much worse.
There were some people playing "bear pong". It looked like beer pong, but with giant buckets.
July 28th
I was up early on Saturday for my hair appointment.
Shortly after, Scout had her 12 week checkup. She was a little late (being almost 14 weeks).
Everything checked out great and she is now okay to be out and about or kenneled.
No rabies for Scout!
She was drugged out a big chunk of the day.
...but then she sprung back to life
Lance, my dad, and I, went to eat at Babe's for dinner. It is one of my favorite places to eat back home.
July 29th

July 30th
We spent our last night in Arlington going to dinner with Lance's parents at Piranha Killer Sushi. It was delicious and Lance got to try a new foreign beer.
Lance presented me with a koozie that I love!

July 31st
We packed up and that alone wore out Scout.
We headed out of Arlington close to 4:30.
She is now 29.5 pounds and that is getting up there. It was too hot the beginning of the ride for her to sleep in my lap.
We would normally put her in the backseat, but it was full of all our stuff.
I checked today and I am now officially licensed in TX!
It took around 10 weeks I believe. It seems like forever.
Lance scored a job while we were in Arlington and he starts tomorrow morning!
