It's a love story...

My Best Friend's Wedding

My flight landed at DFW around 5:20 on Thursday afternoon. My parents picked me up and we drove to the nail salon. I got a manicure so my nails wouldn't look hideous at the wedding.
After all that, my parents and I ate at a new italian restaurant. I don't even remember the name of it...probably because there wasn't much to remember.
The sunset was beautiful that evening.

Friday morning I drove to the airport to pick Lance up. He flew up from Houston for the festivities. It was the first time I've had the chance to pick him up, instead of the other way around.
We spent the first half of the day running errands. He needed some pants dry cleaned and some buttons put on a blazer.
We spent the afternoon watching Jeopardy and relaxing with my parents.

We got ready for the rehearsal and dinner.

The rehearsal got a bit hot, but nothing too crazy.
The dinner was at Country Recipe Grill. I had never heard of it, but it turned out to be amazing. Trinity's (groom) family goes once a week.

The napkins were embroidered.

The bridesmaids got to open their gifts and we all received Coach wallets. Now I have one to match my purse. =)

Saturday I needed to be at the wedding location at 10:30 AM. I was first for hair and makeup.
Everything ran smoothly and it was pretty relaxing. It was REALLY nice to spend a whole day with some of my best friends. This is something that is so rare these days with all of our busy lives.

Here are some snapshots getting ready.

Around 3:45 or so we took our group shots. The bride and groom got a first look at each other.

Once the pics were taken, time started to stand still. It seemed like 7 pm would never come around.

My parents picked up Lance and they headed to the wedding.

Once 7 pm came around, "Here Comes the Sun" played and we started our walk.

Trin and Chels played a cute game where the DJ would ask them each a question.
Something like: who is more likely to want a weekly date or initiate a kiss.
Each of them would raise either Ken or Barbie to give their answer.

The rest of the night was full of dancing, eating, and drinking.
Good times.

We went out after the wedding.
Katie showed me her new townhouse in Ft. Worth. Katie, David, Lance, and I went to a bar called "The Usual" and had a nightcap.

Sunday morning was spent sleeping in. Lance and I met up with his mother for lunch. It was the first time I've had the chance to meet her. We all met up at Rockfish.

We went back to Lance's and I watched him pack. We shared some ice cream while Lance talked with his father...and I became engrossed in a 9/11 memorial book. I got sucked right in.

I dropped him off at the airport and said goodbye. I won't see him for a little over a month. =(
I've been so spoiled the past 3 weeks seeing him 3 weeks in a row.

I spent Sunday evening with my parents.

Monday morning I walked the dogs with my mom and then had lunch with both my parents.
I packed up and headed back to DFW (my fourth time in 4 days).

I landed back in Durham around 9 pm last night. I am super tired, but got a lot done today.

I had pediatric boot camp at 7 AM this morning and met my new CI. We then rotated through 4 modules to help prepare us for peds.
We got out at noon.

I came home and took my maternity quiz (finally) and then took my peds medication administration quiz.
THEN, I listened to my online Research class lecture.

I tried reading the material for tomorrow's leadership class, but I failed. 10 pages in and I was dying a little inside.

Soooo, I decided to update my blog!

One of my fellow students asked if I wanted to join a flag football league today at bootcamp. I'm very interested and I might join. I need something to look forward to every week....or to get me out there and be more social.

Time to relax for a couple of hours before bed.
